What Physical Conditions Can Rolfing Help With?

Backwork

Treatment of mid layers of back

Clients and practitioners have reported improvements in many conditions during a series of Rolfing sessions.

The aim of sessions is the improvement of posture and movement. Symptoms that are related to these issues can be responsive to Rolfing.

The holistic nature of Rolfing means it is not a therapy for acute specific medical conditions.

What emotional conditions can Rolfing help with?

It is also believed by many that emotions can be held within connective tissues.

An example of trapped emotions is a child being told not to cry and suppressing this natural emotion by wilfully contracting certain muscles. This action, if repeated over time can become an unconscious holding pattern.

When the holding pattern in the connective tissue releases, so the trapped emotions can be resolved. Rolfing can act as a catalyst for emotional growth and change. Rolfers are trained to assist the client to contain this process safely.

What about contra-indications?

Of course, if  you have an acute or any serious cause for concern you should initially consult your GP.

There are some specific health conditions that make Rolfing unsuitable, and these will be assessed before any treatment is arranged.
